About Dr. Emad Hussein
Dr. Emad Hussein is an international arbitrator, accredited mediator, legal counsel, academic and institutional adviser, with more than two decades of experience in dispute resolution and institutional development across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and internationally.
He has served as chairperson, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in complex commercial and investment disputes under the rules of leading international and regional arbitral institutions. He is internationally accredited as a mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) and the International Mediation Institute (IMI), and is empanelled with major international financial institutions, dispute resolution bodies and courts.
Dr. Hussein currently serves as Senior Advisor for the MENA region at the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy (SIDRA), Deputy President of the International Court of Arbitration of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Arbitration Centre (OIC-AC), Member of the Arbitration Council of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA), and Member of the International Advisory Board of the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre (OCAC). He is also an Associate Lecturer at Newcastle University, UK.
As Founder and CEO of Consultancy Masters International (CMI), Dr. Hussein advises governments, arbitral institutions and other organisations on dispute resolution, institutional development and professional capacity-building. He also serves as a Senior Expert in Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the United States Department of Commerce, through which he regularly delivers judicial and governmental training programmes across the MENA region. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (FAIADR), and a certified consultant with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
